Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) is Thailand's purpose-built visa for remote workers, freelancers, and digital entrepreneurs earning income from outside Thailand. Launched mid-2024, it offers a 5-year multiple-entry structure with stays of up to 180 days — extendable once in-country. Visa Centre handles the full process.

WHO THIS IS FOR
The DTV is designed for foreign nationals who:
• Work remotely for an employer or clients based outside Thailand
• Freelance or run an online business with overseas-sourced income
• Are self-employed professionals, consultants, or creatives earning from foreign clients
• Are digital entrepreneurs (e-commerce, content, SaaS) with revenue from overseas
The DTV is not for people earning Thai-sourced income — that requires a Non-B visa and work permit.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Age: 20 years or older.
Financial: 500,000 THB (~USD 14,000 / AUD 21,000 as of June 2025) in your bank account. Three months of bank statements are standard; overseas statements in your home currency are accepted.
Income proof: remote employment letter, freelance contracts, or business registration showing income sourced from outside Thailand.
Health insurance: a policy covering Thailand is required at the time of application.
No criminal record.
VISA STRUCTURE
Initial visa: applied at a Thai consulate in your home country (online applications available for some nationalities — confirm with your consulate).
Stay per entry: 180 days maximum.
In-country extension: the 180-day stay can be extended once at Immigration for a further 180 days, giving up to 360 days of continuous stay before an exit and re-entry is required.
Validity: 5 years, multiple entry.
No annual extension fee — unlike the retirement visa, the DTV is a one-time issuance.
